ant or grasshopper?

From yesterday's New York Times comes the word that guilt fades while regret at missed opportunities grows. In other words, I should be out Christmas shopping and having fun now instead of sitting at my desk trying to start grading? Or, hmm, would Christmas shopping not be fun enough?

I think Christmas shopping is not fun enough. NOR is grading papers. I would say fun = escaping to a spa and having a couple of mojitos afterward.

1) Isn't this just another version of the old "Nobody on their deathbed wishes they'd spent more time at the office" saying?

2) I'm sorry, but the whole thing (the sample, the methodology, and the results) seems like just another example of how ridiculous the social sciences can be.

I thought you thought that knitting was 'fun' - and isn't that what you were going to do about Christmas?

I just had a tooth filling replaced. I wish I was doing something else. Instead work just keeps piling up.

Hmmm, interesting link. I totally am a grasshopper. At least I hope I'm happy when I get old like the article says :)
